Getting to know Miss Fuerstenberg

Welcome to Kindergarten, I’m so happy you’re here!

I am pleased to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to the 2017-2018 school year! I am so excited to be starting my 6th year here at Abiding Word. I am a 2012 graduate of Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN. I grew up in Carleton, Michigan, and that is where my family still lives. I have two loving parents, Mark and Sherry, who love to visit and spend time in the Kindergarten classroom! I also have three brothers, Eric, Dan, and Tim, a sister in law, Katelyn, and a beautiful niece, Roselyn.  I absolutely love being here at AWLS and look forward to this year with you! A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher. It’ll be a great learning and growing experience for all of us involved ☺

My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high. I want to help your child become the best student they can be and help lay the groundwork for the rest of their schooling. With your participation both in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a productive, creative, and enjoyable year together. My hope is to incorporate a morning cooking class once a month for the Kindergarten class to enjoy and learn from. If you are interested in volunteering in or out the classroom, please let me know! I will do my best to let you know ahead of time when I’m going to need volunteers, and if you’re able, I would really appreciate your help.

Personal Philosophy Statement:

As a teacher, I want my students to know that God loves them, He is always there for them, and that they can always turn to God. I hope to inspire children to learn, to wonder, to love one another like Jesus loves us, and to live in peace with each other. If I can do that, I will feel that I have reached my goal! Each child is a unique gift from God, and I will love them for the child they are!

Favorite Bible Verse:

Romans 1:16,17 – “I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith’.”

Personal Interests:

Spending time with my family and friends. Playing the piano and singing, playing sports (especially basketball), reading, shopping, relaxing in the sun, and taking pictures.
