Bible passage encouragement for the week: John 15:

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

  Have a tremendously wonderful Thursday!

Good morning parents,
Welcome back! I pray everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break! I very much enjoyed my time in Michigan with my family, but I missed the kiddos! We've had a loud classroom this morning- everyone seems excited to be back :) Crazy Sock Day is this Wednesday, March 21st. Crazy Sock Day is a celebration of those in our world with Down Syndrome (individuals with DS are born with a 3rd set of the 21st chromosome, hence why it's celebrated  on 3/21). Feel free to send your kiddo to school with mismatched or crazy socks on Wednesday!
I got a very good report from Mrs. Lange about the kiddos on Thursday and Friday when I was out of the classroom. I'm so proud of them! This coming Friday we will have Show and Tell for the letter P. We'll also be having Cooking Class this Friday!
If you have not yet, please take a moment to go through the re-enrollment process. It greatly helps us plan for next school year.  Here is the link to that re-enrollment portal. Good morning parents,
How is it already the first full week of March?!? Thank you to everyone who came to our Zoo Field Trip- we had such a beautiful and enjoyable day! God blessed us with wonderful weather, and has continued to do so this week :) Friday's Show and Tell is for the letter M. Please help your kiddo find something that begins with the M sound and bring it to share with the class!
I will be out of the classroom tomorrow and Friday, and Mrs. Lange will be my sub. The kids know she'll be here and we've spent plenty of time talking about showing respect, kindness, and love. They know they're classroom jobs and responsibilities, and I have no doubt that it'll be a great couple days! If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Mrs. Lange will be sending home the Green Folders Friday afternoon in your kiddo's backpack. You'll find a new Sight Word Packet to practice 10 words on the last page. We've worked hard to learn them in class, so try to spend time over Spring Break to get them committed to memory.
When we come back from Spring Break, we'll be close to the end of the 3rd quarter. A sign up for Parent/Teacher conferences will be sent out from the Front Office. If you're wanting to have a conference, sign up and it'll be great to see you. The kiddos will have 1st grade Readiness Testing in the month of April, but more information will come as it gets closer.
If you're traveling for Spring Break- have safe travels! I'm looking forward to celebrating my niece's 1st birthday with family and friends in Michigan this coming weekend.
I'll see you either Sunday, March 18th in worship or on Monday, March 19th.
  Have a wonderful Wednesday :)

Good morning parents!
Happy Thursday! I hope this email finds everyone healthy, happy, and staying dry from all the rain! We've been cooped up inside this week, but the kids seem to enjoy recess in the gym. Tomorrow's Show and Tell is for the letter R. Please help them find something to bring in and share with the class!
This week we've been collecting pennies and other coins for our "Hearts for Jesus Week". As a school, we are rallying together to collect money to support our mission project in Malawi, Africa. This is a time that allows our Abiding Word family to thank God for all of the blessings He has given us, and then to use our resources to reach out and share the good news of Jesus with souls all over the world. Students are encouraged to bring in pennies for their own team's jar, and other coins and dollars for other team's jars. Thank you for helping to support this project!
If you haven't, please fill out the permission form for your child to participate in Jump Rope for Heart (it's on the inside cover at the bottom. I highlighted the parts to fill out and return!)
Next Thursday (March 1st) is Kindergarten Roundup and Taste of 1st grade. Your kiddo will come to the Kindergarten classroom as normal on Thursday, but then I will take them up to Mrs. Patterson's classroom at 9 to get "a taste" of what 1st grade is like. They'll come back to me at lunch time :)
Next week we'll have a few guests in our classroom for the entire week. A few girls from Martin Luther College (our church synod's teacher training college) will be joining us to learn about teaching. I'm excited to have them here with us!

Next week we'll be working on the following:
