Good morning!
Brr! We've had some cooler temperatures and it's really starting to feel like Christmas(speaking as a Northerner!) The kids have enjoyed bundling up (I think!) and working on our Christmas countdown! Tomorrow's Show and Tell is for the letter E
This Saturday, December 16th is a mandatory Christmas Service Rehearsal from 10:30-noon. Your child should be dropped off in the school gym by 10:30. If they're attending "Christmas for Kids", they'll be taken to the right place following our rehearsal and able for pick up at 3:30. If your child isn't attending "Christmas for Kids", pick them up from the school gym at noon. If you're unable to make it due to previous plans, excuse them via email.
I sent a signup genius out last week for our Christmas party. If you haven't, please sign up!
Just a reminder, December 21st is a half day, so the students need to be picked up at noon. The Christmas service is at 6:30, so please have them in the gym by 6:15. The dress code for that night is nice clothes (girls: dress and boys: shirt and tie). The church tends to fill up, so if you would like to come earlier to get a seat, that would be a good idea. The Kindergartners will be in the front row :) Hopefully you saw the note in your child's Red Folder last week giving directions about our Christmas party gift exchange:  purchase an ornament for your child to bring to school! If your child is a girl, buy a girl ornament and if your child is a boy, buy a boy ornament. It works out perfectly in our class for the girls and boys to exchange. The price shouldn’t exceed $5.00. Wrap the ornament and write To: Girl / From: Name of your kiddo.

Next week we'll be working on the following:

** Christ light ** God gives his people the 10 Commandments
** Memory Treasure ** Christmas Recitation: we'll be reviewing all of them!
** Math ** Unit 8 (Measurements)
** Super Kids ** Ettabetta and the letter E
** Science ** Plants with Mrs. Carlovsky
** Social Studies ** Time for Kids
** Phonics ** Sight Word Packet #3
** Center Focus ** Numbers 56-58
** Writer's Workshop ** Swimmy
** Music ** Christmas Music
** PE ** none due to half-day
** Technology ** none due to Christmas rehearsal

Bible verse of the week: By the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Romans 12:3

Enjoy your Christmas break! We resume classes on Monday, January 8th and report cards will be sent home in your child's Red Folder.

Have a fantastic day!

Good morning parents,
Can you believe there's a chance of snow?!? Stay warm over the next few days with the lower temperatures! Tomorrow's Show and Tell is for the letter F. We've been busy working on our Christmas recitations (Memory Treasures) for the Children's Christmas service on Thursday, December 21st. Just a reminder, the 21st is a half day, so the students need to be picked up at noon. The Christmas service is at 6:30, so please have them in the gym by 6:15. The dress code for that night is nice clothes (girls: dress and boys: shirt and tie). The church tends to fill up, so if you would like to come earlier to get a seat, that would be a good idea. The Kindergartners will be in the front row :) Hopefully you saw the note in your child's Red Folder giving directions about our Christmas party. If you didn't, this is what it said:

Hello parents!

Christmas is quickly approaching and to celebrate, we’ll have a Kindergarten Christmas party in our classroom on Thursday, December 21st. It works out perfectly in our class for the girls and boys to exchange. The price shouldn’t exceed $5.00. Wrap the ornament and write To: Girl / From: Name of your kiddo. Thursday is a half day, so we’ll have our party right away in the morning, followed by a rehearsal for the children’s Christmas service that happens at 6:30 Thursday night at church, a fun activity in the gym, and a noon dismissal. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
