Good morning parents!
I hope this email finds you happy, healthy, and enjoying this cooler weather! We had a longer recess yesterday to enjoy the cooler temperatures! It has been great being back with the kids- we earned another "happy ball" yesterday for great behavior, so we're up to 5! Tomorrow's Show and Tell is for the letter C (our Super Kid has been Cass, but we'll be moving onto Oswald next week) We will also have Cooking Class tomorrow morning! If you want to help, come to the kitchen at 10:30.
Next Wednesday, September 13th, is Grandparents Day. Your child's grandparents are invited to join us for morning chapel, activities in the classroom, recess, and an art project. Please RSVP to me on how many of your child's grandparents will be attending by Monday, September 11th. (if grandparents are unable to make it, please feel free to join, or have a special guest come for the morning. I've had students in the past not have grandparents able to make it, and we always have other grandparents who "adopt" them for the morning!)
School pictures will be October 12th, starting at 10am. I will do my best to keep this date in front of you so you remember.
The kids were scheduled to sing this coming Sunday, September 10th, but that has been rescheduled. Due to the flooding and being out of school, I wanted to postpone them singing to ensure they're ready. The new date for them to sing is Sunday, September 24th in the 10:30 service. They should show up to the gym by 10:15 in their singing uniform (white Abiding Word polo with khaki bottoms). If you have any questions, let me know!

Next week we'll be working on the following:
** Christ light ** God watches over His people at Babel, God Speaks: Abraham listens, Abraham shares his land, and God answers Abraham's Prayer (we typically have 2 lessons a week, but with missing a week of school, we'll have one lesson a day, with the exception of Wednesday because we have chapel!)
** Memory Treasure ** I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no Savior. Isaiah 43:11
** Math ** Unit 2: Numbers to 5
** Super Kids ** Oswald and the letter O
** Phonics ** C handwriting and matching pairs together
** Science ** Investigating with Science equipment
** Social Studies ** Time For Kids (TFK)
** Art ** Fruit of the Spirit "Joy" project
** Music ** Music in our School and "The Children of the World"
** Technology ** iPads with Mr. Lange
** PE ** Skipping, jumping, and running with Mr. Lange

Have a terrific Thursday!

Good morning parents!
I hope this email finds you happy and healthy :) Our first week of school has been a good one. We're getting used to the routine and expectations that Kindergarten brings. I hope the kids are enjoying it as much as I am! I'm sure you're all aware of the Tropical Storm Harvey that is making its way towards us. For your information, we follow Spring ISD for school closings, so if we get the weather they are expecting, please look for an email from me or Principal Carlovsky informing you of what's happening. It's possible we won't have school if we have flooding, so stay tuned. We want our students and families to be safe in any situation, but especially when severe weather is coming our way.
Show and Tell for tomorrow is for the letter C. We have been studying our first Super Kid, Cass and she has been teaching us about the letter :)
Next week (weather permitting) we'll be working on the following:

** Christ light ** Cain's Sin and God's Love & God Saves Noah and his Family
** Memory Treasure ** For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
** Math ** Matching & Sorting and Numbers to 5
** Super Kids ** Cass and the letter C and Oswald and the letter O
** Science ** Scientific Skills and Instruments
** Social Studies ** Time for Kids will start after Labor Day!
** Phonics ** Sight Word Extravaganza: Pat a Cake project
** Music ** The Children of the World
** PE ** with Mr. Lange
** Technology ** Ipad fun!
** Art ** Name Painting

We will have our first Cooking Class next week. I typically have Cooking Class on Fridays, but my birthday is next Wednesday so we're having it earlier. I'm going to have the kids help me make chocolate chip cookies for our treat :)If you are interested in helping, let me know! We'll plan on making them around 10:30 Wednesday morning.

If you have any questions, let me know. Have a terrific Thursday!

Good afternoon parents!
We've had an exciting couple of days! Kindergarten can be a big adjustment for the kids: the environment is new, the teacher is new, new classmates, new expectations, and a new schedule! Our days are filled from the beginning of the day until 3 o'clock, but I'm well aware it takes at least 3-4 weeks to establish routines, so please know that I'm patient in the meantime and we'll get there! We will have Show and Tell tomorrow afternoon. Your child can bring anything they want to show the class, next week will start with letters from the alphabet. Next week we'll be working on the following:

** Christ light ** God created man and woman & God saves Adam and Eve
** Memory Treasure ** In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
** Math ** Matching and Sorting
** Super Kids ** Cass and the letter C
** Music ** Music in our Schools
** Science ** Senses
** Social Studies ** Time for Kids
** Centers ** Alphabet Rotation in afternoon (all of the kids will have 15 minutes with me one-on-one to review and work on letters, sounds, and writing)
** Art ** Fruits of the Spirit
** PE ** Spatial Awareness with Mr. Lange
** Technology ** Tech Ed with Mr. Lange
** Choir ** The Children of the World

Enjoy your evening and I'll see you tomorrow. Remember, if you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to call, email, or stop by!
Have a great weekend!

You can either initial everyday, or at the end of the row is fine. If your child does end the day on Red, I will send you a private email addressing "why". I'll see most of you after school for pick up, and can also talk then if needed.
