Good morning!
Happy Tuesday :) It's so nice to be back in school for 5 straight days this week! It's hard to believe that we're nearing the end of January and almost to our 100th day of school. Tomorrow's Show and Tell can be anything (no electronics please!). We're finishing up our last lesson for the letter U and will be having Progress Testing tomorrow. Please remember to practice the assigned Memory Treasure on Monday nights with your child. It's so important for them to learn Scripture, so please help with that!

To let all of you know, I received a call last night to teach Kindergarten at St. Peter Lutheran School in Weyauwega, WI. A "call" is the term our greater church body uses to describe a job offer. Please keep me in your prayers as I evaluate my work here at Abiding Word. I'll take the next couple weeks to determine where my gifts can best be used to serve God and His Kingdom. I welcome any conversations and would really appreciate your prayers!

Next week we'll be working on the following:
** Christ light ** God's People enter the Promised Land & Rahab and the Spies
** Memory Treasure ** Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. Revelation 2:10
** Math ** Unit 9 & 10
** Super Kids ** End of the Semester Testing
** Science ** with Mrs. Carlovsky
** Social Studies ** Time for Kids: Abraham Lincoln
** Writer's Workshop ** Mrs. Wishy-Washy
** Sight Words ** Packet #5
** Art ** Celery Paint Project
** Music ** Music in my Life
** Center Focus ** #71-75

My Mom will be coming to visit in February and she'll be spending a couple weeks with us in the classroom. So if you see a shorter (and very pretty) lady next to me, it's probably her! If you're able, come meet her. She loves coming down from Michigan to meet my students and get to know them.

Bible Passage for the week: Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

I am sending home a sheet of sight words/easy to sound out words for you and your child to work through. If you can, please work on these at least 4 times a week. Once your child knows all of the words (and can read them on their own) send back the sheet. I will send home a new sheet for them to continue working on their reading. Thanks!
