Good morning parents!
Happy December! Can you believe that Christmas is in 19 days?! We've had a busy week this week! We started whole school Christmas rehearsals and the kids are doing a fantastic job with their songs and group recitations. Thank you for helping your child learn the Christmas Memory Treasures. If you can, continue to practice all of the Christmas Memory Treasures until the Children's Christmas Service on Saturday, December 22 @ 3pm!
Show and Tell tomorrow is for the letter F. Please help your child find something that begins with the "F" sound to share with the class!
I will be sending home either a Purple or a Yellow Folder every Thursday with lists of Sight Words in them. There are 10 lists in the folder, please work through the lists during the following weeks:
List #1: December 6- December 13
List #2: December 13- December 20
List #3: Over Christmas Break (you could work on reviewing lists #1-#3)
List #4: January 10- January 17
List #5: January 17- January 24
List #6: January 24- January 31
List #7: January 31- February 7
List #8: February 7- February 14
List #9: February 14- February 21
List #10: February 21- February 28

Feel free to keep the Folder and list at home for the week and work through them. Send it back on Thursday for your child to read the list to me. If you want to make flash cards at home for them to use, or any other creative ideas you may have to help them memorize the words- go for it! Please initial and date the bottom of the list when your child mastered the list. I will also initial the bottom of the list after they read it to me. When we complete all 10 lists, we'll move onto more challenging words!
In lieu of a gift exchange, if you are able, please send in a cash donation to be used towards purchasing gifts for those less fortunate. Thank you to those who have already contributed! The deadline is next Friday, December 14th!
We have been having a lot of conversations about Santa and his "realness". Some of your children do not believe in Santa, which is fine, but some of the students do, which is also fine. I'm not going to be the one to tell them that Santa isn't real, I don't think that's my place. I respect the way you parent your children, but I don't want those who believe to be sad when their friends say he isn't real. When they ask me about Santa, I simply say, "He came to my house when I was little." I think that's part of the joy of being a child! I'm trying to teach the kids that you're entitled to make a choice to believe in Santa or not. Just wanted to keep you in the loop!
We are in need of new play dough and rice for our center time! If you feel so inclined, we would love to have more playdough and rice to have in the classroom to use for learning!

  Bible Encouragement for the week:
Jesus said, "Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man." Luke 21:34-36
Do not be anxious anything, but cling to our loving Father!!
